I'm known for my Freezer Food Fixing - love it so much and appreciate
you guys!!!
When a friend of mine was due with her fourth child soon and she was
overdoing it, I decided to get some freezer meals made for her. I shared
my recipes with her, had her pick out some she thought her family would
like (actually her husband picked them out), and then broadcasted the
idea among our circle of friends. Many wanted to help this struggling
friend of ours. Mostly, I wanted to have people come and help that
wanted to learn about freezer food fixing! The seven friends that could
come wanted to help with the food, so I assigned an item or two to each
of them.
I did the main shopping, spending around $100. We gathered one morning
and put together 40 meals in about four hours. It was a crazy time with
so many in one kitchen (not sure I'd recommend that!). I had each of the
friends pick a meal they would like to go home with. (They loved
learning the process and had a meal to try out on their families too.) I
was at the end of my cooking cycle, so with plenty of room in the
freezer, I froze the meals overnight. The next day twenty of the meals
went to our friend and some of the meals to other friends that either
just had a baby or were expecting soon. I think I ended up with four
meals for my family - bonus! It was a great way to teach people about
the process, help out those families that were in need and have a fun
morning as well.
Thanks for the newsletter and all the ideas. You guys are the best!
