Our Crazy Cook for December is Susan W. from Fort Collins,
Colorado.
Hello Ladies,
Well, this is a long ago
story...new bride, learning to cook. You get the
idea. Long, BAD day at work. DH is not going to be
home for a while as he is an athlete and working
out. I had learned to make quiche and it really
was quick and easy. Ahhh, spaghetti quiche. Ready
made piecrust and I prepared and slid it into the
oven. Well, 45 minutes late, DH is home and it is
time to remove it from the oven. Alas, I had
forgotten to place a cookie sheet under it! Yep,
the aluminum pie tin bends in half and the whole
thing slides from my hands onto the oven door. I
burst into tears, dropped the oven mitts on the
floor, turned off the oven and walked sobbing into
the LR. DH comes out of the bedroom and sees the
mess, shoos the cat away (who is VERY interested
in investigating this mess) and scrapes it all
onto a cookie sheet. He then proceeds to fix
himself a plate and sits down to dine. He told me
that it looked terrible, but tasted terrific.
(looked terrible was an understatement...looked
like someone had thrown up on the oven door!) And
yes, Feb will be our 22nd anniversary!
Susan
