How do I start a New Topic?

Starting a new Topic is easy.  Just click on the link "Post New Topic" at the top of the page and you will be taken to our Topic Submission Form.  Once you have submitted your new Topic it will be immediately posted to the Cook's Corner.

How do I reply to a Topic?

A.

To Reply to a Topic you must first select a Topic to Reply to.  You can do this by first selecting the Category that your Topic is in from the "View New Category" selection at the top of the page.  Once you have selected your Category then click on the Topic that you would like to reply to in the list.  After reading the Topic and other replies, click on the "Reply Now" button above the Topic and you will be taken to our Reply Submission Form.  Once you have submitted the form you will be able to view your reply immediately.  Your reply will be at the bottom of the list.

Once I have posted a topic or replied to one, can I edit or change what I wrote?

Right now you cannot edit or change your messages or replies.  We are planning to add this feature in the future.  In the mean time, we're sure that readers of you messages will forgive any typos or mistakes!

What you are experiencing is a Netscape incompatibility problem which occurs when using Netscape 4.77 or older. There are 2 ways around it. You could view our site using Internet Explorer which you can download at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/. Our site is designed to work best with Internet Explorer and this would be our recommended solution. However, if you are more comfortable with Netscape then we suggest downloading the newest version of Netscape which is version 6.02. This version does not have the incompatibility problem. What is a User Profile?

Your User Profile is simply a collection of facts about you like your name, address, email, etc. that we use for contacting our Cook of the Month winners. The information that you enter is completely confidential and will never be shared with anyone without your expressed consent. You can, however, choose to share online some of the information that you enter like your first name, email address and city. How do I view someone's User Profile?

Viewing someone's profile is easy. Simply click on the author's name next to the posting or reply and a User Profile window will pop up displaying the information that the user has chosen to share. Users may choose what they would like displayed so you may not see any information at all except for their display name.

Note: Any messages posted before the User Profile system was installed will not have a clickable name beside the posting, therefore, you may not be able to view a User Profile for every message.
