Assembly Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Add oatmeal and fruits. Add dry ingredients and nuts. Mix well. Drop by teaspoons onto sprayed cookie sheet.


Freezing and Cooking Directions:

  1. Cookies may be baked now at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes and then frozen OR

  2. Dough balls may be frozen for individual cookies

 

Freeze in freezer bags or rigid freezer containers.

Comments:
I found this recipe in my Mom’s red recipe box – all typed out on a 3x5 card. Yummy!

I freeze chopped apples and chopped walnuts in 1 C. portions – makes a recipe like this VERY easy to make quickly.

*Apple equivalents: Large apple = 2 C. chopped, Medium apple = 1 1/2 C. chopped, Small apple = 3/4 C. chopped
