30 Day Gourmet ©2003

Welcome to the world of

30 Day Gourmet Logo

Tara and Nanci first became acquainted when Tara moved to Brownsburg, Indiana in 1990.  With many common interests and similarly aged young children, the two moms soon struck up a friendship.  In the natural course of sharing the daily triumphs and stresses of motherhood and family life, they both realized they had another thing in common - neither of them seemed able to put a decent meal on the dinner table.  Nanci admitted to being nearly a non-cook who only seemed able to put boxed mixes and canned foods on the table.  Tara was a frustrated cook - she knew how to make the recipes, but lacked the organizational skills needed to manage getting the food made and to the table.  For both women, the daily food task had become nothing more than a dreaded chore.  They both felt they were failing their families and themselves.  Something HAD to be done.

Together they decided to pool their cooking efforts and tackle the job as a team.  They wanted to be prepared to set a great meal on the table every day of the month (hence the name 30 Day Gourmet)  The duo discovered that by planning their shopping and cooking, and making good use of their freezers they could get the meal chores done quickly, save money, and actually have a good time in the process.  From main dishes they branched out into side dishes, vegetables, salads and desserts.  Even holidays and special events were made easier by using the techniques they had developed over the years.

When word of their cooking efforts made its way to their circle of friends, Tara and Nanci began to be asked to share their secrets with others.  Women's groups, churches, and local libraries scheduled seminars.  Television and radio shows along with newspaper and magazine reporters began requesting interviews.

Tara and Nanci have put their thoughts, techniques, recipes, and worksheets into their book, The Freezer Cooking Manual by 30 Day Gourmet and their second publication, Holiday Freezer Cooking by 30 Day Gourmet.  They also publish a free monthly online newsletter called Chewin' the News.

What began as the desperate attempt of two women to get a decent meal on the table quickly blossomed into a thriving business. Soon after that, Tara and Nanci put their thoughts, techniques, recipes, and worksheets into their book, The Freezer Cooking Manual by 30 Day Gourmet: A Month of Meals Made Easy.

The 30 Day Gourmet office is now managed full-time by Nanci.  The company mails out hundreds of books per month along with aprons and consultant kits.  30 Day Gourmet's website is the #1 source for freezer cooking info on the web and publishes a free monthly online newsletter called Chewin' the News.  We have recently increased our staff to better meet your needs.
