Assembly Directions:
In a small mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, sour cream, garlic powder and oregano. Spread the mixture in a 9” glass pie plate. Spread the pizza sauce over the cream cheese mixture. Evenly sprinkle the pepperoni, onion and pepper on top of the pizza sauce. Bake at 350 degrees for 18 minutes. Remove from the oven and set aside to cool.

Freezing Directions:
Cover the top of the cooled pie plate with wax paper or plastic wrap. Then cover the whole dish in foil. Or, put the covered plate in a one- or two-gallon freezer bag. Put the mozzarella cheese in a one-quart freezer bag. Seal, label and freeze.

Serving Directions:
Thaw dish and bag of mozzarella cheese at least overnight in the refrigerator. Heat dish in the oven at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven, sprinkle the mozzarella cheese on top, and return to the oven for 8-10 minutes. Serve hot with tortilla chips for dipping.

Tammy’s Comments:
This dish is a great appetizer, but my kids and I could easily eat it for a meal! Tortilla chips are the “dippers” of choice at my house, but you could also use bread sticks or crackers. Or even pizza veggies… broccoli florets, mushroom halves, green pepper strips, etc.

The dip looks nice layered in the pan, but if freezer space was at a premium, you could use a freezer bag instead. Steam the onion and pepper pieces in a small amount of water in a covered container in the microwave for 2 minutes. Mix all of the ingredients except the mozzarella cheese together, put it in a freezer bag or rigid container and freeze. Freeze the mozzarella cheese in a separate one-quart freezer bag. Thaw, put in a pie plate and bake as above. Maybe not as pretty, but it still tastes delicious!
