Tips
for Happy Gathering
-
Suggest
that each family be in charge of one recipe and
make enough for everyone.
-
Don’t
make a recipe “just because”.
For years, I served cranberry sauce because
my mother did.
One year I finally realized that none of us
ever ate it!
-
If
traveling, use an ice chest to keep cold
-
foods
chilled and insulated food carriers to keep hot
foods hot. Don’t
travel with perishable items at room temperature
for more than two hours.
-
If
meals are scheduled at odd times of
the day, keep children and other hungry
guests satisfied by providing a few light snacks
or appetizers.
-
Understand
that children who only see these foods once or
twice a year may not be very tolerant of trying a
whole plateful!
The tolerance will have to start with you!
