Tips for Saving Time & Money

  1. Plan your holiday meal NOW.  They won’t be inventing any new foods between now and then.

  2. Avoid the “night before Thanksgiving grocery store madness” by purchasing ingredients now. You’d be surprised by how many stores run out of pumpkin pie filling.

  3. Shop the sales.  Holiday food items begin to come on sale early in November.  Keep a list with you of needed items.

  4. Take advantage of stores that have price matching guarantees and shop fewer stores.

  5. Freeze recipes in heat-safe serving dishes whenever possible.  These can go from freezer to oven or microwave, then straight to the table.

  6. Call the meat department well in advance if you want special meat cuts ready while you are there.

  7. Mark all holiday meal ingredients with a big “X” so that it will not be used up ahead of time.
